Jarrah's energetic, upbeat songs and haunting vocal harmonies is a culmination of 10 years of writing and performing experience by this unique group.

Founded by singer songwriter Gavin Somers, Jarrah's contemporary Koori music is a positive sharing of culture, love and life through song. Over the last few years Gavin has won 8 songwriting awards for his works and is gaining recognition country wide for his vocal and songwriting ability.

Recently joined by talented singer/songwriter Skye Taikato, JARRAH have supported well known artists such as Archie Roach, Paul Kelly, Midnight Oil and others. Gavin and Jarrah have performed at intimate, community and corporate events all around Victoria and are a versatile acoustic trio.

Jarrah's new Cd "Down on the Mish" has just been released and is currently being launched around the state. A polished recording of contemporary folk rock, a culmination of 5 years of writing and recording. The new album consisting of 12 original tracks, is a reflection of the bands roots featuring strong acoustic rythms and harmonies.

Recorded at Motherload Studio Warrnambool and Salt Studio in Melbourne, the 12 new original tracks are a mixture of upbeat folk rock and moving ballads.

Since the release of their first album JARRAH have received regular airplay on Indigenous Radio across the nation. They have also performed live on air at Triple J, 3KND, 3CR, 3AW and 4AAA Murri Radio - Qld.

Based in Melbourne Jarrah's Indigenous musicians Gavin Somers and Skye Taikato share a journey of culture, love and life through their intimate ballads and haunting harmonies.
